Augusta Kwarteng, who emerged as the best female athlete in the just ended Central Regional School and Colleges athletics competition has cited encouragement from her teachers and teammates as her source of motivation that helped her achieved that feat. Augusta Kwarteng, a Wesley Girls student won gold in the 100m, 200m and 400m competitions to emerge as the best athlete in the female category.

When criticalnewsghana.com asked of her source of motivation and the secret to her success, this was what Miss Augusta had to say, “I don’t really have a secret, it’s just God and encouragement from my teachers and my fellow athletes that pushed me to be the best athlete because without their help I wouldn’t have done all the things I did”. Asked about how she felt after achieving that feat, she said “I feel very happy, very excited and accomplished”.

Miss Augusta was very optimistic that this wasn’t going to be the last we are hearing from her because she will be doing a lot at the personal level in order to be in good shape as she prepares to enter the university. She however, asked for prayers from the general public as the battle ahead cannot be won without the favour of God.
