James Paulinius Johnson, popularly known as Jay Pee in showbiz circles has made it clear he isn’t doing music as a result of unemployment.
The Kill It crooner who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Publishing Studies from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, told Amansan Krakye on Slam Down Extra that he isn’t into music as a result of unemployment.
“No, I’m not doing music because I’m unemployed, I’m doing music because it’s my passion. It has always been so. If it’s about employment, my family has a company, PJ Engineering and Construction Limited and I could choose to work there, so it’s far from that.” This was in response to the question if he is doing music because he is unemployed (with his regards to his academic qualification). Jay Pee who has officially released five singles has his latest one making wild waves in Cape Coast. Titled “Abonsam“, it features Rebo tribe and Ground Up act Quamina MP. The song was produced by Array and mixed by IvanBeatz and has Jaypee singing off his usual style.
Speaking on the Cape Coast music industry, the PossyB Records signee said “Cape Coast music is improving.. First when I started it was that bad.. as of now, its way better, people are hearing good stuff and I know its gonna go on like that.” He further advised the youth to do the right thing during the ongoing Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebration. “Everyone knows what’s right and wrong, if you know its wrong, don’t do it.” he ended.
