It was all joy in Koforidua over the weekend when MTN held its tenth Y’ello Soiree, a program organized to show appreciation and to get feedback from loyal customers as to how to improve products and services of the company. The annual event which began in 2008 was held in the Eastern Premier Hotel, the second time the Eastern Region held the soiree in its ten years existence.
In his welcome address, Prince Owusu Nyarko, the Ag. Regional Senior Manager for South East underscored the importance of the program and why MTN cherish the encounter with clients.”….Customer feedback has been essential to our business. We have been able to to evolve, introduce new products and modify existing ones due to the feedback we receive you, especially during informal engagements like this. Your feedback on how to serve you better has gone a long way to help us to stay focused as the market leader. Our appreciation for your support as key stakeholders cannot be overemphasized and this is why we are always happy to engage you” asserted Mr Nyarko.
On his part, CEO of MTN, Selorm Adadevoh described the initiative as brilliant and a rare opportunity to interact with loyal customers on unofficial level to exchange ideas on how to make the company better.”I believe the idea of having this time with customers is a brilliant one because it gives us opportunity to meet on what i call neutral grounds- here we meet to get to know each other better, not at a transactional level. The regular points of interface which are usually for making enquiries, report issues, giving feedback are all good. What is great about this event is that we get more personal and engaging and the results of the interaction are usually very rewarding”.
Mr Adadevoh took the opportunity to touch on the successful listing of the MTN Public Offer. “I find this evening’s encounter as timely. It is coming two days after our listing and gives us the opportunity to say thank you to you all especially when those of you who bought our shares. I am sure you have heard by now that the offer makes historyas the largest primary share offer in the history of the Ghana Stock Exchange”.
He promised both customers and shareholders of MTN a god working relationship and a better future ahead. “We have enjoyed a good working relationship with you and we look forward to a brighter future with you all either as customers, shareholders or both. If you missed the opportunity to buy shares during the initial public offer but are still interested, you may buy from a licensed stock broker” he asserted.
