MTN MoMo Awards: Provide Poor Service And Get Blacklisted- MTN To Agents

It was all joy at the Western Plus Atlantic Hotel on Sunday when MTN held a program to award and celebrate mobile money agents, distributors and merchants for their immense contribution towards the growth of the brand.’MTN was very much appreciative of the handwork of these great partners.

However, MTN has sounded a caution to agents who have ulterior motive aside serving customers to their satisfaction.

In a speech read on behalf of Mr El Hini, the General Manager of MTN Mobile money by Godwin Tamakloe, he underscored the importance of the marriage between MTN and its agents. “Today is another great opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate our ‘MoMo agents who have exhibited professionalism in the performance of their duties as far as mobile money operations are concerned. Through your handwork and commitment, we have achieved a lot of strides in the money space. This year MTN has been recognized and celebrated at four prestigious awards events”.

On security of customers he said agents who engage in foul means to defraud clients will be dealt with. “While you interact with leadership and staff of MTN, you are also reminded that as an agent, you have a responsibility to serve as an ambassador for the brand. Your actions an inaction affects the image of MTN, therefore, we urge you to provide exceptional experience for our customers. The services we provide for our customers are basically for their convenience and it will be unfair if our customer shave to go through a lot of difficulties to access the service due to agents poor conducts- charging unapproved fees, defrauding customers, wrongful mobile money registrations, mislead or induce customers to obtain pin, poor customer service, among others. Agents who do not adhere to the rules and regulations are dealt with and eventually blacklisted”.

On Agents security, he said MTN is collaborating with the security agencies to provide adequate security but also advised agents to be conscious of their safety. In recent times, there have been  a lot of concerns about your safety. We are working with the police and the insurance companies to mitigate the risk. whilst doing that, we will also advice the following; closing early, security of your outlets, safeguarding your phones and pin, not entertaining unnecessary call, etc.

Over fifty (50) people won awards ranging from Samsung phones, flat screen TV Sets, Motorbikes, Plaques and a Hyundai I10. Aunty Becky of Beckynash Enterprise won the over all award and took home the Hyundai I10 salon car.

Aside the abundance of food and drinks on the day, patrons were also given a treat from Kofi Kinaata who gave A+ performance on the day.
