The Central Region Chairperson of the Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA, Nana Apeatsewaa II, who is also the Tufufuhemaa for Abura Wiomua has charged local artistes to bisect their wings to grab the numerous opportunities that accompany that annual ritual ORANGE FRIDAY.
She said this in an exclusive interview with the host of Good Morning Cape Coast(GMCC), Amandziba Madiba on cape 93.3FM,Wednesday, as part of her campaign to whet the appetite of local musicians to ride on the back of the ORANGE FRIDAY to boast their career
She charged the likes of Teephlow, Jungo, Kobby Simple, Kaphun Gadaffi, Eshun, Real MC, Lokal, Shi Wayne, Twicy, Boggy Wenzday, Ekow Marvel, Idara, King Xzibit, Mula Palmer, Okortor Perry, Jungo, Skuul boyz, Mista One, Kojo Vyper, Sticker, Gojit, Nana Bisi, Frousty Gee, Reina, Jah Lightening, Rebjoe and a lot more not to be dormant but walk the talk through music, this she believes would push them to the pinnacle.
According to her, the fact that the new sensation, Zylofon Media, is a partner of this year’s edition, speaks tons of goodies about the ORANGE FRIDAY. Besides she is convinced without any equivocation that foreign entertainment outfits shall be in the country to witness the event and most of them are scouts, hence one could get a foreign show or gig through an electrifying stage performance during the climaxing of the event.
” The ORANGE FRIDAY has been improving year after year and this year will be more fun and exciting so many people from all walks of life will be in town and our musicians could win local and foreign contracts through their work done during the event“.
She encouraged residents in the central region to be the pivot of the celebration of the Fetu Afahye and the Orange Friday to make it historical.
Orange Friday is the biggest street carnival in Ghana and it’s held on the first Friday of September annually during the Fetu Afahye.
This year’s edition marks five years of its existence and dominance.
The event is organized by the biggest urban radio station in the central region, cape 93.3 FM.
It is a mix bag of nothing less than entertainment. Floats accompanied by brass band music, sound systems, skate riding is held through the principal street of Cape Coast amidst dancing and singing .
The 2017 edition will be lunched on Friday August 11,2017 at the Cape Coast Hotel and executed on Friday September 1,2017.
